In their frequent activities abroad, the representatives of the European Academy for Economic and Cultural Relations have become especially aware of the extraordinary contributions made by Italian Americans in the United States. Often these activities are very significant to the American economy. Our fellow countrymen have been able to become perfectly integrated into American society without renouncing their pride and identity with Italy. This is especially poignant in light of the revival of the Italian economy and our entry into the European Common Market.

Therefore, we have decided to formally recognize our fellow countrymen who distinguished themselves abroad with the prestigious title of Academic AEREC. The Academic Decoration is particularly significant as it is conferred in the presence of honourable persons of the Italian political, economic, entrepreneurial, cultural, and religious communities.
